Bobbye Sue Burge's Obituary
Bobbye Sue Burge, age 73, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2024.
She was born in Nashville on December 14, 1950 to Bobby Copeland and Edna Sue Roberts, who preceded her in death. A 1968 graduate of Two Rivers High School, Bobbye Sue went on to obtain a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville in 1972. Later on, she attended Tennessee State University in pursuit of CPA certification. In 2017, she retired from Metro Nashville Public Schools, where she worked as an accountant. She was a member of First Baptist Church Greenbrier.
She was married to Lynn Haskins Burge, Jr., who preceded her in death, for over 36 years. She is survived by her sister, Arosa Kay Petre (Tim), two sons, Brian Everett Buchanan (Amy) and Matthew Lynn Burge (Holly), two grandchildren, Ansleigh Elizabeth Hahn and Jaxon Curry Campbell, and brother Will Hicks (Josie).
The family invites guests and relatives for a time of visitation on Tuesday, July 9th, 2024, from 4:00 until 7:00 in the evening, and on Wednesday, July 10th, 2024, from 9:00 until 10:00 in the morning, with a funeral service and burial to follow at Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, TN 37216. Brother Jon Briggs will officiate services.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Bobbye's name to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, "Where Nashville Comes to Remember."
