Boyd D. Fulton's Obituary
Boyd D. Fulton passed away peacefully on March 3, 2023, in Brentwood, TN, at 87.
Boyd was born in Nashville, TN, and was raised in Coffee County, TN. He established his career at Met Life after moving back to Nashville. His passion for recruiting and nurturing new salespeople knew no bounds.
Throughout his life, Boyd cultivated various interests beyond his professional pursuits. He actively participated in numerous political campaigns, including every one of Dick Fulton’s races. He was a dedicated member of the Franklin Road and Priest Lake Jaycees alongside his first wife, Agnes. Additionally, he was deeply involved in the Masonic and Shriner communities. However, his life was enhanced when Rotary entered his world. He was instrumental in forming the Green Hills Club in Nashville and served as its first president. From 1995 to 1996, he was the Rotary District 6760 Governor. After retirement, he focused his time promoting organ and tissue and raising awareness about the critical shortage of organ donors by traveling and speaking at Rotary clubs nationally and internationally.
It has been said that Boyd epitomized the absolute gentleman. He strived to be dignified in his bearing and conduct, polite and kind to all, and genuinely interested in the welfare of others. His strong character drove his actions, including his patriotism and interest in America’s service personnel. An Army veteran himself, he worked with others to recover lost medals and citations for other Tennessee veterans and worked to support children that lost a parent in the service of our country. Boyd had a servant’s heart.
In his passing, Boyd was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Henry Wade and Etoile Rhoton Fulton, as well as his siblings, Shirley Matlock and Harold Fulton. He was also preceded by his first wife and mother of his children, Agnes Glasgow, and his second wife, Joyce Braswell. Boyd is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn Price, as well as his children, DeWayne (Carlton Cornett) Fulton, Terri (Kevin) Totty, and Darren Fulton. Additionally, he is survived by his stepchildren, Jan (Pat) Benson, Leighton Braswell, Betty (Rick Glaze) Price, and Robin (David) Puryear, his granddaughter Heather (Jonathan) Alvarado, six step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of cherished friends who were like family to him.
The family cordially invites relatives and friends to attend the visitation on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 from ten o'clock in the morning until the time of the funeral service at twelve o'clock in the afternoon at Brentwood United Methodist Church, 309 Franklin Road in Brentwood. The committal service will be held privately for the family.
