Brenda P. Walden's Obituary
Brenda Mae Pirtle Taylor Walden, of White House, Tennessee, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 19, 2026.
Brenda was born on August 17, 1945, to Sam Davis Pirtle Sr. and Mary Latitia Carney Pirtle. She was preceded in death by her first husband and lifelong friend, Richard Lavoy Taylor; her second husband and childhood sweetheart, Virgil Lee Walden “Duddy”; her mother and father; brothers Joe Willoughby Pirtle (Peggy), Sam Davis Pirtle Jr. “Sonny” (Hazel), and Phillip Elliot Pirtle; and sisters Helen Pirtle, Marilyn Sue Bearden (Frank), and Evelyn Jewell Knight “Judy” (Kenneth).
She is survived by her brother, Aaron Eddie Pirtle “Honkie” (Judy), her son, Davis Lavoy Taylor (Debbie L. Taylor) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Brenda was a longtime employee of AT&T and the Bell System. She also spent many years working with the Communications Workers of America (CWA) creating artwork and other meeting decorations. Brenda had a creative spirit like no other. She owned Mouse House Ceramics in Brentwood, Tennessee, Creative Flowers in Hendersonville, Tennessee, and worked for many years as an interior designer.
She loved deeply and was loved by so many.
Arrangements are as follows:
Visitation will be held Friday, May 29, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Hendersonville, Tennessee.
A second visitation will be held Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., with funeral services beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. Graveside services will immediately follow at Spring Hill Cemetery in Madison, Tennessee.
