Britt Alan Ross' Obituary
Britt Alan Ross, 58 of Nashville, TN passed away on December 18, 2025 peacefully in his home. Britt was born October 25, 1967 to Earlean Ashley Evans (mother) of Dubach, LA and Earless Ross (father) of Omaha, NE in Amarillo, TX. He was the youngest of seven children. He came into the world when everyone else was beginning to start their families. He was a loveable chunky baby that you could not resist loving on. His favorite things were drinking chocolate milk and eating chocolate cake and any other sweets he could find. Britt was also very adventurous. He had a skateboard that he played with and used one of his older brothers dog named Kingfish and would tie the leash to the dog to pull him down the street on the skateboard. He loved dirt bikes and playing the vinyl records (45in. & 33in. albums) from back in the day and reciting the book of Psalms 23.
Britt attended Amarillo High School because of districting purposes and late transferred to Tascosa High School to participate in the NJROTC program and also played football before graduating from Tascosa High School on September 8, 1987. Britt married his high school sweetheart, Joyce Foster of Amarillo, TX and their matrimony moved them to Jackson, MS. Shortly after graduating and joining the Navy, Britt became an E3 helicopter mechanic, training in several locations and finally settling in Nashville, TN making this place his home. He served on the USS Forrestal Navy Ship until he completed service on December 10, 1993.
After completing his service with the Navy, he attained several jobs such as security guard, gas station attendant, correctional officer, and maintenance at a local hotel.
Britt was a lover of people and was friendly to many that he met. He had a kind smile, and he liked to joke in order to help your day go better and he was quick with responsive comments. Britt liked to help people and would give advice when the opportunity became available to give.
Britt was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Foster; mother, Earlean Ashley Evans; father, Earless Ross; brother, Michael Royce Evans.
Britt leaves behind his cherished memories with two daughters, Lucynda Ross and Brittany Simon'e Ross; two granddaughters; siblings, Savannah Joyce Miles, Jerry Donald and wife Anna Lewis; Carl Edward and wife Shirley Ashley, Robert Earl Ashley and Marshea Elaine Evans. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Britt's memory will always be rooted deep in the hearts of those that he touched in a special way. Although he is absent from our presence, he will forever be in our hearts.
