Mr. Browder (Jay) Smith, Jr.'s Obituary
Browder (Jay) Smith, Jr., Age 88, went to be with Jesus on January 23, 2016. He was born in Adairville, KY, a native of Nashville, TN, and recently of Hendersonville, TN. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Lorene Sullivan Smith; his father, Browder Smith, Sr.; and his mother Grace Holder Smith. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Gilliam Smith;, his daughters, Linda Smith Adams (William) and Joanne Smith Redding (Boyd); his son, David Alan Smith; 5 grandchildren, Mike Redding, Jason Redding, Jamie Adams, Nathan Smith, and Rachael Smith Elrod; 8 great-grandchildren;, and 1 great great-granddaughter. He retired from both Neuhoff Meat Packing Plant and the Nashville Metropolitan Government. He was a member of Hendersonville Church of Christ. He was an avid camper and a lifetime member of Sam’s camping club. The family will receive family and friends from 2:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday and 10:00 am to 12:00 pm Thursday at Spring Hill Funeral Home. His Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm Thursday, January 28th at Spring Hill Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery, 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, TN 37216, 615-865-1101.
