Bruce William Hartman's Obituary
Bruce William Hartman, age 64, passed away Wednesday, January 16th, 2013. Mr. Hartman was born in Wilmington, Delaware on May 25th, 1948 to the late William & Joan Hartman. Survivors include his wife Gloria Anita, son Woodrow Travis (Rebeccah), stepdaughter Jennifer Summerfield, sister Joie Budington, 3 grandchildren and best friend Evelyn Woodrow. Mr. Hartman served in the Army in Vietnam and received the Purple Heart. Bruce was a construction superintendent for many years for ABCO Construction in Atlanta and Doster in Birmingham. He was most proud of projects that included the Speedway Club at Texas Motor Speedway and the Command and Control Center at Fort Campbell. He was a great lover of animals, especially his dogs and cats who have remained by his side during a long bout with lung and brain cancer. He was an active member of Connell United Methodist Church of Goodlettsville. A special thanks for the wonderful care of Aseracare Hospice and the loving caretakers from Home Instead. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm on Friday, January 18, 2013 at Spring Hill Funeral Home 5110 Gallatin Rd, Nashville 615-865-1101 where funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm with Pastor Paul Gardner officiating. Interment will be in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Walden’s Puddle (www.waldenspuddle.com 615-299-9938) an organization close to his heart, or his beloved Connell United Methodist Church (www.connellumc, 615-859-5915 in loving memory of Bruce William Hartman.
