Mr. Bryant H. Fuqua's Obituary
Mr. Bryant Hyland Fuqua, age 92 of Madison, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2020. He was born on September 4, 1928 in Springfield, Tennessee to the late Herman and Mahala Fuqua. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Lora Fuqua Houle, his brother Clyde Fuqua, and his grandson Andrew Craighead. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years LaVerne Howell Fuqua, his daughters Sharon Sparkman (Barry) and Vicky Craighead (Larry), his grandchildren Craig Sparkman, Carly Tassin (J.D.), Caitlyn Sparkman, Matthew Craighead (Kelsey), and Hailey Craighead, as well as his great-grandchildren Jake Cunningham and Macie Tassin.
Mr. Fuqua was born and raised in Springfield, Tennessee. He always enjoyed football and played all through high school. He enjoyed attending Vanderbilt University football games, and watching Atlanta Braves Baseball. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. and Mrs. Fuqua were longtime members of Jackson Park Church of Christ.
A visitation will be held on Friday, October 2, 2020 from 10am to 12pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life Funeral Service beginning at 12pm in the Spring Hill Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery has been entrusted with the final care of Mr. Fuqua. 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, Tennessee 37216.
