Carey Jean Brisendine's Obituary
Carey Gordon Brisendine (84), a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend passed away on Sunday February 27, 2022, in Portland, TN.
Carey was born July 14, 1937, in Holly Springs, Mississippi to the late Virgil & Katherine Freeman Gordon. In addition to her parents Carey was proceeded in death by husband Frank Brisendine, daughter Jan King, and grandson Jeremy King. Carey is survived by children Karen (Brent) Logue, Pam (Frank) Bassett, Greg (Kathy) Brisendine, son-in-law Jerry King, grandchildren Amy Van Galder Andy (Julie) Mathias, Ashley (Brian) Berry, Adam (Lesli) Brisendine, Joey King, Aaron Brisendine and Alex Gregory, 9 great grandchildren, and sister Marie (Lee) Strain a brother-in-law Joe (Glenda) Brisendine and a sister-in-law Nan (Bob) Moseley.
Carey was a long-time member of Grace Baptist Church where she enjoyed leading women’s bible study groups and teaching numerous classes. In addition to her service to the Lord, Carey loved her family deeply and enjoyed quality time with them including caring for several of her grandchildren and great grandchildren over the years.
A visitation will take place at Spring Hill Funeral Home on Monday, March 7, 2022 from four o'clock to eight o'clock in the evening. A short visitation will take place on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 from ten o'clock to twelve o'clock with a funeral service to follow at twelve o'clock at Spring Hill Funeral Home. A burial is to follow after the funeral service at Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Adam Brisendine, Aaron Brisendine, Alex Gregory, Caleb Mathias, Drew Mathias, and Fisher Berry
