Mr. Carl Wayne Moore's Obituary
Carl Wayne Moore, 73, of Nashville, passed away at Alive Hospice on Friday, November 23, 2018, with his family by his side.
He was born December 2, 1944, the son of Virgie Adams Moore and Wilburn Harris Moore in Nashville. He is preceded in death by his parents and niece Ashley Mae Scruggs.
Carl was a lifetime member of Inglewood Baptist Church where he held several positions of service over the years, including Training Union Director, Bible Study teacher for Junior and Senior High boys, as well as coaching youth softball and basketball teams.
He retired from Vaughn Manufacturing Company after 42 years of service as a Tool & Die maker. Carl was an avid outdoorsman. He had a passion for hunting and fishing. After he retired, most days you could find him with his friends on Percy Priest Lake fishing for hybrid stripe.
Carl is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dottie Luckey Moore; son Eric Wayne Moore and wife Ginny; sister Wanda Faye Scruggs and husband Jimmy, as well as a host of wonderful friends, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 from 5pm-8pm and Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from 9am-10am. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted by Dr. Bill Chaney on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 10am in the Chapel at Spring Hill Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Hart, Lucius High, Brian Minoux, Chris Scruggs, Lannie Simpson, and Johnny Williamson.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Alive Hospice, 1718 Patterson St., Nashville, TN 37203.
