Ms. Carmene Johnson's Obituary
Carmene Holder Johnson a devoted mother and Christian, passed away on March 20, 2020 in Rutherford County. She is preceded in death by her late husband, Herbert Johnson, her parents, Thomas Melvin Johnson, Ona Mai Johnson; son, Bradford Holder; sisters, Alma Ruth Thomas, Kathleen Johnson; brother, Thomas Wilbur Johnson; and grandson, Scott Holder.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Susan Holder (Marshal Dean) Horton; sisters, Evelyn Fry, Sammie Johnson Appleton; grandchildren, Peyton Dean Horton, Kristie Holder, Catie Holder, Corrine Holder; and great-grandchildren, Mitchell Binkley, Skylar Binkley, Emma Binkley, Mackenzie Holder, and Landon Holder.
Carmene was an active member of Hillcrest Church of Christ in Springfield, TN. She was strong in her faith and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Carmene enjoyed gardening, crafts, and singing. Carmene was a wonderful person and touched the lives of so many, she will truly be missed.
The family would like to give a special thanks for the love and care to the staff at Stones River Manor in Murfreesboro, TN.
Active pallbearers will be Peyton Horton, Matt Utterback, Robert Johnson, Eric Ophron, and Jimmy Whitman. Honorary pallbearers will be the Elders and Deacons of Hillcrest Church of Christ.
A celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 2pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home. There will be an hour of visitation prior to the service. Arrangements entrusted to Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery. 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, TN 37216. 615-865-1101.
