Carolyn Smith Bohannon, 90, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2022. Born August 8, 1932, in Nashville, she was the daughter of the late William Enloe Smith, Sr. and Ada Lee Wills Smith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Calvin Clinton Bohannon; sisters Frances Burkhalter and Ann Tillman; brother William Enloe Smith, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter LeeAnn Johnson; grandchildren AnnChristine Johnson and Andrew Johnson; and a host of extended family and friends.
Carolyn was a graduate of West End High School. When she was a younger lady she taught Sunday School at Lebanon Road Church of Christ. Family was very important to Carolyn. She retired from being a phone operator with AT&T to help take care of her grandchildren while also being the caretaker of her dear mother. Family reunions and food were a very big deal to Carolyn, her banana pudding, coconut cake and deviled eggs will be missed.
Visitation will take place from 4 pm until 8 pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home in Nashville on Sunday, October 16. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 12 pm noon on Monday at the funeral home. Family and friends will visit one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery in Nashville.
