Mrs. Carolyn Fay Clement Moore's Obituary

Carolyn Fay Clement Moore of Old Hickory, TN passed away on September 16, 2021, in Davidson County. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry Alden Clement, Louise Lindsey Clement; son, Michael Edward Moore; and best friend, Mary Louise “Lou Lou” Barnett.
She is survived by her loving husband, Billy D. Moore; daughters, Amy Moore, Anita (Keith) Puckett; sons, Ken Moore, Johnny Moore; grandchildren and great-grandchildren (in order by birth), Brittney, Amber, Meagan, Raven, Jax, Elica, Bryleigh, Logann, Jessica, Gracie, Charlotte; and dear friends, Paula Boatman Murray, Dot and Larry Smith and many more.
Carolyn worked at Bell South as a telephone operator for almost 10 years. She worked the switchboard. She would ask “Number, please”.
Carolyn had a passion for recreational youth sports. She was a volunteer commissioner over Old Hickory Basketball League for 25 years. She was volunteer commissioner over the Old Hickory Girls Softball League for several years. She also helped with Old Hickory Baseball. She belonged to a Bowling League back in the days. She bowled a perfect game of 300. Her plaque is at Donelson Bowling Alley.
Carolyn played and help coached the Old Hickory United Methodist Church softball ladies’ team. She was a great short stop, pitcher and first base. She actually could play any of the positions on the field. When her daughters were old enough to join the church team; they played ball together. Carolyn coached for many years at the Old Hickory Girls Softball league and Old Hickory Basketball league.
Carolyn loved family trips to the mountains and the beach. Carolyn said Christmas started with the family trip to Pigeon Forge. She loved Christmas time. As she got older the beach trips were scheduled in October instead of July, because of cooler weather.
She truly enjoyed going to Cracker Barrel. Carolyn made many friends over the years at Cracker Barrel. It was her stomping grounds for friends, delicious food and of course shopping.
She was known as Mom to many because of her involvement at Old Hickory Community Center, Old Hickory softball field, PTA & PTO at the DuPont Elementary/DuPont Jr. High school, boy and girl scouts and Old Hickory United Methodist Church and her children’s friends. She was always involved with the community.
Carolyn graduated from Dupont High School in 1954. She was proud to be a DuPont bulldog alumnus. She was a basketball manager for the high school basketball team with Paula Boatman Murray.
She earned a lifetime membership in the PTA at DuPont Elementary and DuPont Jr. High. Carolyn was even involved with the PTO at DuPont Elementary a couple years ago.
Carolyn loved to oil paint. She was an awesome artist. She said she couldn't draw, but she could paint.
One unique tidbit about Carolyn; her uncle Ira I. Robinson “Shorty” wanted her to race cars because of her skill of driving. He was going to provide the car and be her sponsor.
Family was very important to her. She loved them dearly.
Carolyn has touched the lives of so many and will truly be missed.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, from 4pm to 8pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at 1:45pm with visitation starting at 11am.
