Carolyn Louise Rigby's Obituary
My loving mom, grandmother, great grandmother, sister aunt and friend was born on November 23, 1946 and died at Spring City Care Center on March 4, 2025.
She is survived by one son Dennis (Melissa) Rigby, one sister, Linda Krill, and grandchildren, Makayela, Miranda, Candace, Zachary and great grandchildren, Clayton, Layla, Laurissa, Oliver, Caspian, Atlas, Luna, and Koda, along with many nieces and nephews.
Proceeding her in death are her parents, Raymond and Maragaret Louise (Hamilton) Tarman, husband Frank Rigby, sister and brother-in-law, Larry and Sharol Blackport, bother and sister-in-law, Robert and Nina Jane Tarman, brothers-in-law, David Krill and Kenneth Rigby, and sister-in-law, Pearl Alexander.
Carolyn worked for many years for general telephone/Verizon as a customer service representative in Goshen, Indiana. The family moved to Florida in the early 2000s, and she worked in the customer service department for Conway Freight in Tampa. She graduated from New Paris high school. She received her 20-year pin from Purdue Home Extension club and was active in 4H. While in Goshen, the family attended City Church of the Brethren.
Carolyn loved her family deeply and was always up for many camping adventures and travel with their sisters and brother and their families. She was a den mother for Dennis’s Boy Scouts of America troop. After she retired, she loved to keep connected with family and friends through Facebook and sending cards.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date and burial will take place at Whitehead Cemetery in New Paris, Indiana. Memorial donations can be made to the Elkhart County 4H Extension Office.
