Ms. Carolyn Tompkins' Obituary
Carolyn Colombo Tompkins passed away on December 23, 2018 at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN at the age of 63. Carolyn is survived by her three daughters, Jessica, Rebecca, and Sarah Tompkins. She is preceded in death by her parents Angelo and Agnes Colombo.
Carolyn was born on September 16, 1955 in Memphis, TN. She attended high school at St. Bernard’s Academy, and graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 1977 with a degree in Biology. She worked for the State of Tennessee and then at home raising her three children. She later graduated from Meharry Medical College and worked as a medical laboratory technologist from 1996-2003 until she began work for Ladies of Charity Welfare Agency in Nashville. Her children remember her as a generous and loving mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals.
A visitation will be held at Spring Hill Funeral Home, 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, TN, on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 4 PM until 8 PM. The funeral is scheduled for Friday, December 28, 2018 at 2 PM, with visitation from 1 PM until 2 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Carolyn’s life.
