Carylon Faye Baker's Obituary
Carylon Arnold Baker, 78, of Nashville, Tennessee passed away peacefully on July 18, 2026.
Born in Fayetteville, Tennessee, Carylon was the daughter of Robert W. and Virginia Stewart Arnold. After high school, she attended Martin Methodist College, where she met her husband, J.B. While they were standing in the cafeteria line, he asked if he could walk her back to her dorm after dinner—a moment that began 56 wonderful years together.
Carylon is survived by her husband, J.B. Baker, Jr.; her children, Julian Baker, III, Kevin (Emily) Baker, Brock (Jocelyn) Baker; her grandchildren, Jaden (Jaylon) Jones, William Baker, Westin Baker; great granddaughter, London Jones; and sister, Martha Craig. She is preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Robert Arnold, Jr., and James Arnold.
Carylon was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother (Nonni, they called her). She was an avid reader, a talented artist, and enjoyed playing Bridge at the Centennial Club with her friends. She served as Secretary/Treasurer of Five Star Express and was Co-Owner of Sprint Logistics in Nashville, Tennessee. She was a Trustee of The Hermitage where she previously served on the Board of Directors and served as a Docent at the Tennessee Governor’s Mansion under former Governor, Ned McWherter. She loved spending time with J.B. at their Monteagle mountain home, SilverOak, where she held many holiday and family gatherings, creating our best family traditions. Her greatest joy, by far, was spending time with her grandchildren. They were the center of her world! Nonni, your beautiful face and heart will be truly missed. We love you and will see you again one day. Until then…..
