Catherine Gibson's Obituary
Catherine Gibson, aged 71, of Pleasant View, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2024. She was born in Nashville, Tennessee, to Tracy and Agnes (née Schulte) Freeman.
Catherine was predeceased by her husband of many years, David Noel Gibson, her father, Tracy A. Freeman, her brother, Tracy B. Freeman, and her parents-in-law, Joe and Betty Gibson.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Rachael Gibson and Laura Michelle (Jereme) Richardson, her mother, Agnes Freeman, her grandchildren, Natalie Richardson and Austin Humphrey, and her siblings: Jim and Margaret Felts, Allen and Beth Freeman, Patty Freeman, Mike & Debbie Freeman, Judy Copeland, Chris and Diane Freeman, Eddie and Melissa Vaughn, and Tony and Sheila Anderson. She also leaves behind 45 nieces and nephews, as well as 27 grandnieces and grandnephews.
Catherine was an adventurous soul who loved traveling. Her favorite pastime was working on jigsaw puzzles, and she had completed over 3,000 of them. She also enjoyed various other crafts as well as decorating cakes. Her exuberance and joy were contagious, and she was always the first one on the dance floor. Catherine had a sweet tooth and relished ice cream and Russell Stover’s candies.
A devout and long-time member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Catherine will be remembered as an amazing grandmother, a beloved sister, the best mother in the world, and most notably, the Girl Scout of the family. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
The family cordially invites relatives and friends to gather and share memories of Mrs. Gibson on Friday, March 1, 2024, from four o'clock in the afternoon until the time of the Rosary at seven o'clock in the evening at Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5110 Gallatin Road in Nashville. The funeral mass will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at eleven o'clock in the morning with an hour of visiting prior at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1225 Gallatin Road in Madison. The committal service will immediately follow via an escorted cortege at Ever Rest Cemetery in Pleasant View, Tennessee.
