Cathey Young-Carroll's Obituary
Cathey Young-Carroll, 52, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2023. She was preceded in death by a child, Monttina Anna Young, parents, Gloria Ann-Marie Choate Young and Wallace Edward Young, Sr. a brother, Wallace Edward Young, Jr., two honorary sisters, Theresa May Freeman Rameriz and Candee Leeann McGrady, and a niece, Estelle Anna-Marie Young.
Cathey is survived by two children, Corey James Bruce and Shelby Ronnie Bond (Nicole), honorary children, Shondell Lee Gambel and Ashley Nicole Allen (Tommy), grandchildren, Wyatt Jose Estaban Bond, Nikolai Thomas Bond, Texonna Miracle Bond-Ramirez, Edgar Alexander Bond-Ramirez, and Emmett B Colt Bruce, several nieces and nephews, Faith Ann Owen, Christopher Lee Owen, Jr., Miyah Leyana Gambel, Josiah Jamal Jones, J’Nariah Jones, Ruger Ray Edward Allen, Ryder Kane Allen, Aiden , Jordan Adams, Jr., Noah Adams, Jordan Adams, Sr., Dana and JR., a brother, Christopher Lee Owen, Sr. and a sister, Tonya Young.
Cathey was a certified nurse. She worked with mental health clients for 24 years and was an advocate for the homeless. She had a big heart and would help anyone and everyone she could. She was also a member of Eleventh Street Church of Christ. She cheered her Dallas Cowboys on for every game, she was an avid fan. Her music taste was mostly metal and rock. Cathey loved to go to Panama City and walk the beach picking up seashells for projects at home. Her family and friends knew how much of a prankster she was often running over anyone in her way on her scooter.
The family cordially invites relatives and friends to gather and share remembrances of Cathey on Friday, September 8th from five o'clock in the afternoon until eight o'clock in the evening at Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5110 Gallatin Road in Nashville. The funeral will be held the following day on Saturday, September 9th at ten o'clock in the morning with an hour of visiting prior to the service. The rite of committal will immediately follow the funeral service.
