Charles Robert Connor, age 88, went home to be with his lord on January 1, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 2, 1932 the son of John and Ruby (Cline) Connor both of whom preceded him in death.
Charles served proudly in the United States Marine Corp and served in the Korean War. He owned Connor Battery Service for over 40 years before his retirement. Charles loved fishing, playing cards, watching football, taking trips with his family and hanging out with his friends. Charles was a great father, husband and friend, he was good to everyone and would help anyone in need. He was a very kind man with a gentle heart.
Charles is survived by son, Glen; daughter, Marilyn (Marty); grandchildren, Michelle Connor Carr (Nathan) and Michael Ryan Connor; great-grandchildren, Cole, Clair, Ruthy, Gwen, Elle Carr, and Jeremy Connor. He is also survived by his faithful companions Scooter and Izzy.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Shirley Gay Connor; son Mike Connor; granddaughter Virginia Lee Connor; brother Ronnie Connor.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 12 pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home on Friday, January 8, 2021 with Dr. Harry Yates officiating. Visitation will be held the same day from 11 am until service time. Interment to follow in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
