Charles C. Harris' Obituary
Mr. Charles Carney Harris age 86 of Gallatin, TN passed away November 7, 2024. He was born October 10, 1938 in Goodlettsville, TN to the late Benjamin and Goldie Harris.
Along with his parents, Charles is preceded in death by in-laws, Jesse Ray and Nellie May Baldwin; sons, Tracy Harris, Michael Greene and Eddie Money; other family members, Myles and Dorothy Baldwin; Joyce, Odell and Regina Malone; Tommy King; Sue, Lewis and Collin Grossholz; Tommy Clinard; Jesse "Tony" Baldwin and Sam.
Charles is survived by loving wife of 67 years, Barbara Baldwin Harris; daughters, Susan Greene and Laurie Money; grandchildren, Candice Haynes, Chassen and Meagan Haynes, Zachary, Jesse, Joseph, Desmond and Julian Money; great-grandchildren, Goldie and Lillian Haynes; sisters, Doris King, Jessie Clinard and Minnie Baldwin; daughter-in-law, Kristi Harris; "The Boys" Bentley and Benson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Charles was a devoted family man and took great pride in the many years he spent working, most of the time 2 jobs at the same time. He was employed at Ford Glass Plant for 30 years while also starting Harris Realtors from the ground up, where he spent over 45 years. Charles and his son Tracy also had a hand in bringing the NFL to Nashville. He always loved NFL Football and the SEC.
He was a man that loved to travel mostly to Las Vegas, D.C., and CA. He loved being "Pop" to his grand and great-grandchildren. He was a true American patriot, that was highly invested in politics. Charles even got to see Donald Trump be re-elected before he passed.
Pallbearers will be Chassen Haynes, Zachary Money, Joseph Money, Desmond Money, Julian Money, Myles Baldwin, Terry Baldwin, Gary King, Tony King, Rollin Grossholz, Marlin Grossholz, John Varallo, and Brian Baldwin, Billy Greer and Josh Grossholz. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Smith, Frank Smith, Lou Damico, and Kennesaw Neighbors.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Brookdale Assisted Living, Gentiva Hospice and Dr. George W. Bounds III.
