Charles Stanton Hawkins Sr.'s Obituary
Celebrating the Life of Charles Stanton “Stan” Hawkins Sr.
November 6th, 1938 – June 16th, 2026
Charles Stanton “Stan” Hawkins Sr. was born in Auburntown, TN, and from the very start he showed the energy and drive that marked his days. Today we celebrate the beautiful life he lived, one filled with achievement, family love, and warm memories.
Stan shined as a running back for Isaac Litton and at UT Martin along with track and field. His athletic spirit carried him to a Golden Globe Welterweight Championship, a moment he treasured and often recalled with pride. Those early wins set the stage for a lifetime of aiming high and giving his best.
Beyond sports, Stan became an avid golfer and found joy on every fairway. His entrepreneurship spanned over several businesses like petroleum jobberships and radio stations. Closing the golden deal was one of his many talents as a businessman. He chaired several boards from banking to real estate, guiding each with steady purpose and clear vision.
One of his greatest joys was family being a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was preceded in passing by his wife Barbara Ann Hawkins of 31 years, parents Ray Daniel and Beatrice Alberta Hawkins, great-grandson Sterling Hawkins, brother Don Hawkins, and sister Carole Rice. He is lovingly remembered by his son Chuck (Cheryl) Hawkins, daughter Kimberly (Kenneth) Kopp, grandchildren: Seth (Brianna), Connor (Jewels), Emily (Timothy), William (Taylor), Jackson and Charles, great-grandchildren: Rush, McCoy, Palmer and Millie. Their stories, laughter, and milestones were the moments he cherished most.
Stan passed away in Nashville, TN, leaving behind a legacy of determination, leadership, and faith. As we share our favorite memories, may we hold onto his bright example and continue to celebrate a life well-lived.
