I had the pleasure of being Charles instructor during his primary phase of his flight training. This picture was taken after he finished his first solo, I got to proudly watched him solo along with his lovely wife Leslie, his daughter Kansas, and his mom. Charles had just the purest soul, very determined, and just so kind. Even though Charles was my student, Ive always looked up to him. I always appreciate his life advices and especially advices about how to approach situations in the most positive way. Fast forward, as I progress in my career, Charles and I would exchange texts and calls to see what my fiancé and I been up to and what him, Leslie, and Kansas has been up to. He would tell me that he is so proud of my fiance and I with our progress in our careers. About 2 months ago, Charles told me that his cancer is getting worse, we just talked and I told him I would always think of him when I fly. His advice that I will always take with me, “Never take anything for granted.” See you in the skies Charles!
