Mr. Charles M. Rottero's Obituary
M.Sgt. Charles M. Rottero, U. S. Air Force Retired. Age 91 of Hendersonville, Tn. entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 28, 2015.
SGT Rottero was a lifelong Tennessean and resident of Sumner County since 1963. SGT Rottero was a decorated veteran of 42 years with the Army, Air Force and TN Air National Guard serving in 3 major conflicts; WWII, Korea and Viet Nam in combat support roles.
M/Sgt Rottero was the non-commissioned officer in charge of the supply and procurement section for Eleven Major Berry Field ANG operations during his tenure.
Sargent Rottero is preceded in death by his father Charles, mother Annie and his wife of 67 years Mary S (Eddie) Rottero.
Sargent Rottero is survived by his sister Mary Catherine Regan of Brookling, MA, son Kevin Rottero, daughter-in-law LouVonne Rottero, granddaughters Tracey (Rodrigo) Fass of St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, Stephanie (Kent) Bailey of Kingston, TN, great grandchildren Miller R. Bailey and Madalyn M. Bailey of Kingston, TN, sister-in-law Wilma Campbell of Nashville, TN, numerous nieces and nephews in Boston, Pulaski, TN, Alabama, Georgia and Florida.And his extended family, Sandy Garrett of Gallatin, Tn., Linda and Craig Whitlow of Bowling Green, KY. and his loving granddog, Eva.
Visitation is scheduled for Sargent Rottero at Spring Hill Funeral Home Monday, July 6 from 3-8 pm with a rosary at 7 pm and an hour prior to the funeral Mass.
Mass of the Resurrection will be held Tuesday, July 7 at 10 am, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with principal celebrants Rev. Tommy Joseph, Rev. Eric Fowlkes and Pastor Gary Farrell. Interment will follow with full military honors at Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. Honorary pall bearers are all living members of the 118th Air Wing, TN National Guard, Retired Air Guard Technicians and members of the Air Force Sargent’s Association, Air Force Association and Aerospace Association.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
