Charles Dudley Underwood Jr.'s Obituary
Charles “Chuck” Underwood, Jr., passed away on Monday, May 8, 2017. Chuck was born to Charles D. and Frances Louise (Larson) Underwood Sr. on April 28, 1943 in Nashville.
Chuck was a 1962 graduate of Litton High School. After graduating Chuck began his career working for Ford Glass, Automatic Food, and finally the City Road Chapel UMC.
In his spare time, Chuck enjoyed fishing and working in his yard.
Chuck is preceded in death by his father Charles D. Underwood, Sr.
Family was important to Chuck. Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 43+ years, Martha Love (Foster) Underwood, his five sons; Todd, Larry, Greg (Christy), Jimmy (Allison), and Jeff (Christina) Underwood. Chuck’s legacy continues on through his 17 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. In addition, Chuck is survived by his mother Frances, his much loved and admired mother-in-law Evie Gooch Foster, his brother Robert (Diane) Underwood and many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 4-7pm at City Road UMC. A second visitation will be held on Friday, May 12, 2017 from 11-1pm at the church. Funeral services will begin at 1pm with Rev. Jay Voorhees and Emily Reeves-Grammer officiating. Burial will follow at Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
