Charles T. Vaughn's Obituary
Charles Thomas Vaughn, 80. Born to Douglas Vaughn, Sr. and Claytie Rose Gray Vaughn at 5:28am, March 1, 1946 at Madison Sanatorium and Hospital. Died peacefully with family at his side, 9:11pm, March 20, 2026 at Richland Place Nashville, TN.
A devoted loving Son, loyal Brother and regarded the “Uncliest” of Uncles by his many Nieces and Nephews.
Charles attended Lockeland Elementary, East Nashville Junior High and Hume-Fogg High School, graduating in 1966.
Shortly after High School Charles was inducted into the US Army where he completed Basic Training at Fort Lewis, Washington. Having very high Armed Forces test scores the Army wanted him to accept training as a helicopter pilot. He instead took orders to become a medic, serving in Viet Nam as a Specialist 4th Class combat medic.
After serving his country he returned home and attended Falls Business College, completing training in computer programming. He was hired by First American National Bank where he rose to Vice President of Computer Operations.
Charles had a close relationship with his Mom and Dad and a strong sense of Family. When his Father died young at the age of 62 he took it upon himself to fill that family’s void by staying at home to take care of his Mom and help raise three younger siblings.
He was a loyal Brother, always there to help and support his Brothers and Sister and their families any way he could.
Never marrying and having a family of his own, Charles found great joy in the presence of and interaction with his many Nieces and Nephews.
While he is, and always will be, greatly missed, the love, care and comfort he gave will forever influence those that knew him.
Charles is preceded in death by his Father and Mother and is survived by Brothers Douglas, David, Joe, Dickie, Paul and Tony Vaughn and Sister Laura Lee Vaughn Nadell.
