Charles Sidney Young's Obituary
Charles Sidney (Sid) Young, age 84, of Franklin, TN went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 28, 2022.
He was born and raised in Nashville, TN and graduated from Isaac Litton in 1956. He pursued becoming a disc jockey right out of high school, working in Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, and Tennessee. He later became a life insurance salesman with Life and Casualty, eventually owning his own agency. Upon retirement, he spent several years driving cars for Enterprise. Through this journey he was blessed with many lifelong friendships that meant the world to him.
He was saved at Grace Baptist Church in Nashville, was a long-time member of Parkway Baptist in Goodlettsville, and later joined Brentwood Baptist when he moved to Franklin to be closer to his grandsons.
He was a truly devoted husband, daddy, granddaddy, father-n-law, and friend. He loved people unconditionally. He never lost his sense of humor or his love of music. He always had a smile on his face and laughter in his heart.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Jacob Young and Sarah Rather Young. He is survived by his wife, Jennie Sue Young, his daughter and son-n-law, Sally Darlene and Mike Carpenter, his grandsons Canaan and Jordaan, stepson Tony O'Saile, and extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Spring Hill Funeral Home, 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, TN. Visitation will be on Friday, January 13, 2023 from 4-8PM and on Saturday before the service from 10-12. A graveside service will immediately follow.
