Charmaine B. Gossett's Obituary
Charmaine B. Gossett, 91, of Nashville, Tennessee passed away peacefully on July 17, 2024. She was born October 12, 1932, to James and Minnie Evelyn Buchanan, Jr.
She is predeceased by parents James Culbert Buchanan, Jr. And Minnie Evelyn Stiles Buchanan, husband, Charles “Charlie” Davis Gossett, Sr., brother Ryman Earl “Buck” Buchanan.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are sons Charles Gossett, Jr. And Steve (Doris) Gossett.
Charmaine had an early interest in art and enjoyed painting. She was a Charter member of the Tennessee Art League which helped to foster a love of art and painting in Nashville and the State at large. After her two sons were born, she declared that they were her masterpieces.
She also took pleasure in gardening and was an active member in the Herb Society of Nashville. Her favorite herb was her lavender, and she gave many sachets to friends and family as tokens of her affection.
She was an active member of Two Rivers Baptist church and later at The Donelson Fellowship teaching adult Bible studies and working in the nursery.
Charmaine was a wonderful loving mother that used up all her patience on her two strong-willed sons. She was a great cook and took advantage of the fresh herbs she grew in her garden.
Later in life, she took an interest in family history and genealogy after being given a
family Bible documenting past ancestors. This interest led her to author a book about Ryman Auditorium, “Captain Tom Ryman: His Life and Legacy.” She toured the Nashville area participating in speaking events about her book.
Memorial contributions can be made to The Donelson Fellowship in lieu of flowers.
