Christine Walden Tune's Obituary
Christine Walden Tune, age 83, a lifelong Nashville, TN resident, passed away peacefully at home on 7/14/2026 supported by family and friends.
Born on 6/17/1943 in Nashville, TN, she was the daughter of the late Henry Harvey Wood and Allene Hawkins Wood. Christine graduated from Hume-Fogg High School in 1962 and went immediately into Nursing Technician training and worked at the former Nashville Baptist Hospital. After raising a family, she went back to work, eventually retiring from Metro Schools where she enthusiastically worked in Student Nutrition.
Known for her helpful nature and simple needs, Christine had a special interest in those impacted by the progressive Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. She was also very active in community service with her Free Will Baptist church. She was a 30 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 88 supporting veterans.
Christine is survived by her son: Dennis Stroff, now of Murfreesboro, TN with grandson Matthew, of Columbus, OH, and grandson Connor of Santa Ana, CA., son: Jason Walden (Niki) with granddaughter Annabelle Hope in Knoxville, TN. She was preceded in death by sons: Stanley Stroff Jr. (1979) and Shawn Walden (1990), and spouses: Harry Walden (1980) and Edward Tune (1997).

In lieu of cards or flowers, Christine specifically asked that any donations be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), not in her name, but in Stanley or Shawn’s name.
