Ms. Clara Bowles' Obituary
Clara Mai (Keaton) Wilson Bowles, age 80, of Nashville, TN passed away Monday March 26, 2018, at the Bethany Center for Rehabilitation in Nashville, TN. She was born May 7, 1937 to James Thomas and Flora (Page) Keaton in Liberty, TN. Clara will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 54 years, John Ligon Bowles and 2 children/spouses, James Herschel & Cindy Wilson, Florence Geneine (Wilson) & Pat Duff. Clara, was also known as "Nanny", to 4 grandchildren/spouses; Ricky Campbell Jr. & fiancée Misty Foster, Dana (Campbell) & David Williams, Jaime (Wilson) & Mark Bradford, James Daniel & Chasity Wilson, 14 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great children. Nieces/Spouses include Trina (Todd) & Harry Griffy, Jan Keaton & Peggy Keaton.
Clara is preceded in death by her parents, daughter; Doris Marie (Wilson) Gann, son; John Edward Wilson, sister; Billie Jean (Keaton) Steele, half-brother; Willie Thomas Keaton, and her aunt; Louise Keaton.
Clara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt. She enjoyed family gatherings, especially Christmas, where she prepared home cooked meals for her family and those without family for the holidays. The enjoyment of the Holidays, also made her favorite pastime of shopping more exciting.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Bethany Center for Rehabilitation in Nashville, for the loving care they provided over the past 3 years.
A Celebration of Clara's life will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 from 4-8pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home in Nashville, TN. Spring Hill Funeral Home will also provide funeral services on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 1pm.
Pallbearers include David Williams, Ricky Campbell Jr., Ricky "Tres" Campbell III, & Pat Duff.
