Mr. Claude Douglas Dennis' Obituary
Douglas Dennis, age 77 of Nashville passed away July 8, 2014 at his home. A lifelong Nashvillian, Doug was born on March 11, 1937. He was a 1957 graduate of Cohn High School in West Nashville. Doug served with the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department for over 32 years as a detective and a patrol sergeant. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty Dennis; sons, Douglas W. Dennis and Anthony Dennis; daughter, Karen (David) Smith; 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, July 12th at 11:00 A.M. from the Chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Friday, July 11th from 5-8 P.M. and on Saturday from 10 A.M. until service time.
