We must not forget the "bird of the week," a special project undertaken by Clay for Carol Bareford when she was ill. We thought this was a wonderful and thoughtful thing to do and we all enjoyed the beautiful birds.

My deepest condolences on the passing of Clayton Gascoigne. I have wonderful memories of Uncle Clay (aka Uncle Hub) and all of the Gascoigne family from our childhood in Tennessee. We spent many holidays together full of family, food and song. A big treat for me was our summer visits when Uncle Clay made his homemade vanilla ice cream. I can taste it in my memory as if It was yesterday. Love and prayers to you all.
The memories are too numerous to even begin to share. Even though there were many miles between us he was always "here" for me/us. Whenever visiting the family he and aunt Jan always had time to have dinner at our home... always took time to read to our grandchildren and talk to them. He was available to talk when my dad, his brother, was in his last days, warm words of comfort... and when mom passed he helped me to stay focused. He was a pillar in our family and will be greatly missed.
I am certain that both you daughters and your families all have such good memories of your father . May I add some memories from your time in Jackson when your dad was so involved in our church - teaching of Fellowship Class when needed and filling other positions at Forest Heights whenever asked, hosting class parties at your home, filling board positions for the Church Council, the list could go on. Clay was a whiz at the bridge table too, as well as Jan, but consistently had patience with those not so good at the game (me). I still remember his making such great apple pies from scratch when Jan was not well. And always, always speaking with such pride when he spoke of his daughters and their accomplishments.
A good father can never be replaced but the memories do remain. And we will always love our dads so much !
