Mr. Clifford "Cliff" Misamore's Obituary
Mr. Clifford Dale “Cliff” Misamore, age 87 of Mount Juliet, Tennessee passed away on June 8, 2020. He was born at home in Findlay, Ohio on May 19, 1933 to the late Harry and Zelma Misamore. He grew up in Findlay and worked as a Caddy at Findlay Country Club during his high school years. It was there that he sharpened his golfing skills with extra privileges from the club. He graduated from Findlay High School in 1951 and began working for Cooper Tire and Rubber Company. In March of 1953 he joined the United States Navy where he was on the USS John R. Pierce and the USS Forestall. During his time in the Navy he received medals for Good Conduct, the Korean Service Award, and European Occupation. Upon his Honorable Discharge from the Navy in February of 1957, he returned to work at Cooper Tire and Rubber while he studied General Business at Bowling Green State University. He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in 1961 and in that year also began his career as a Computer Programmer at Gulf Oil Corporation. The following year, in 1962, he married the love of his life, Joyce Lynn Fodor. They were married for 52 wonderful years during which they had and raised their son Steve. He retired from Gulf Oil as the Director of Accounting Systems in 1984.
He was a man of many words and loved to visit and boy could he tell a story. He loved to golf which was satisfying many areas of his life-it allowed for business interactions to better his career, he could visit and he could play his most favorite sport of which he was very very good a 3 handicap. He loved numbers and following the stock market and other side investments such as a 47acre plot that he divided into 17 tracts with a road and utilities and he named Misamore Estates. He was a very proud man of his accomplishments in life and that he earned a college education and created success in his life. He was happily married to Joyce and after raising Steve in Houston (Steve went to college) they retired in Sun City CA. They enjoyed several cruises to places such as Alaska, Caribbean, French Riviera and Holland. He enjoyed Genealogy, Coin Collecting, and again visiting. He loved jokes and always had a few prepared. His most proud development in his life was his son Steve. Whether he knew you or not he would tell you very quickly that his son played drums for Dierks Bentley and had from the beginning. He attended many shows, he would follow every tour online, read all the articles and watch every tv appearance. He admired his sons musical success and more so that his son had matured to be an intelligent, compassionate and caring good man. He enjoyed the last few years of his life at Rutland Place Retirement Community where he developed new friendships and he shared many conversations and good times. He also enjoyed petting his grand fur babies Toby and Baxter. He enjoyed outings and lunches with CarryAnn and dinners at Longhorn with Steve.
