Clifton Jewel Dukes' Obituary
DUKES, Clifton Jewel Nashville, TN passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2010; he was 86. Born September 10, 1923 in Muhlenburg County, Ky. Preceded in death by his wife of sixty-four years Violet L. Dukes and also a his sister, Geneva Hoagland . Mr. Dukes is survived by his children, Jerry (Sallie) Dukes, Donnie Dukes, Janet (CL) Nixon and Beverly McDowell; eight grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren. Mr. Dukes was a charter member of Cornerstone Church. He worked for Snell Artificial Limb Co., Jewel Tea Co. and Hester Battery. Mr. Dukes was the previous owner of Bellshire Busy Bee Laundry Co. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4 to 8 PM at Spring Hill Funeral Home, 5110 Gallatin Rd., Nashville, TN. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 Noon Saturday, May 29, 2010 at Cornerstone Church, 726 Old Hickory Blvd., Madison, TN with Pastor Maury Davis officiating . Grandson will serve as pallbearers. Visitation at the church on Saturday one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers contributions for Missionary Bibles may be made to Cornerstone in memory of Bro. Dukes. Entombment will follow in the Serenity Mausoleum at Spring Hill Cemetery.
