Mr. Clinton DeRice Keel's Obituary
Clinton DeRice Keel, age 95, of Madison, TN passed away on Monday, August 16, 2021, at NHC Place Sumner in Gallatin, TN after an extended illness.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 73 years, Leah Jean Keel, and siblings Butler Keel, Ruth Madarasz, Jessie Hurt, Leonard Keel, and Elmer Keel. Survivors include his children David (Kathy) Keel, Steven (Annette) Keel, Pamela (Glenn) Jacobson, Paul (Mary Katherine) Keel, 14 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Clinton was born on December 14, 1925, in Carthage, Tennessee. At the start of World War II, he joined the Navy at age 15. He served on several ships before being assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Lexington in the South Pacific where he saw much action and received 2 purple hearts for his injuries. He worked in sales most of this life primarily for Anchor Hocking Glass and Continental Can Corporation before becoming a manufacturer’s representative. He was a member of St. Luke Cumberland Presbyterian Church, a freemason, and a Shriner.

A visitation will be held on Friday, August 20 from 11 AM to 1 PM at Spring Hill Funeral Home. A graveside service will take place at 1 PM in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
