Connie Sue Stroud Powell's Obituary
Connie Sue Stroud Powell, 67, of Hendersonville, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023. She was preceded in death by parents, Thelma Aline (nee. Chambers) Stroud and William F. Stroud, a son, Phillip Morgan Powell, five siblings, William “Bill” Stroud, Arthur “Artie” Stroud, Alice Faye Flick, Martha Dickens, and Sam Stroud.
She is survived by her husband, David Wayne Powell, Sr., her children, David “Davy” Wayne Powell, Jr., Guy Powell and his wife Lauren Smithson Powell, daughter-in-law, Kaeleigh Warner Powell, six grandchildren, Isaac Powell, Jaakan Powell, Josiah Powell, Noah Powell, Harper Powell, and Crewe Powell, four siblings, Ann Meadows, Linda Moore, Mary Jo “Jody” Roberts (Tim), Jim Stroud (Dennise) and a host of extended relatives and friends.
Connie was a dedicated school nutrition manager but was best known for her cakes, Cakes By Connie. She attended New Life Church in Nashville for over 45 years.
After her husband’s accident in 2012 she took an early retirement to be a fulltime care giver to her husband. She dedicated all of her energy to him and his needs. Her love, sacrifice and dedication was monumental even to her grandchildren that lost their father early in life.
The family cordially invites relatives and friends to visit on Saturday, November 11, 2023, from three o'clock in the afternoon until six o'clock in the evening at New Life Church, 4712 Clarksville Pike in Nashville. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at five o'clock in the evening with visitation two hours prior to the service also held at the church.
The rite of committal will be on Monday, November 13 at eleven o'clock in the morning at Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5110 Gallatin Road in Nashville. Those that wish to attend need to meet at ten thirty in the morning at Spring Hill Funeral Home. Everyone will process together to the committal.
