Mrs. Cornelia Mae "Nita" Johnson's Obituary
Cornelia Mae “Nita” Johnson, 95, of Nashville, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 27, 2020. Born May 19, 1925, in Henderson, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Commodore Brack and Anne Bennett Brack.
Nita was a woman of faith who walked and talked like Jesus and lived to serve others. She was known by many as a prayer warrior. She gave of her time, talents and treasures to her spouse, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and to all in her sphere of influence. The fingerprints of her touch rest upon decades of children and adults alike.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Horace A. Johnson, Sr., sister Mary Thelma Knight, and brothers Dalton, Dillard and John Brack.
She is survived by her son Horace A. “Butch” (Wilma) Johnson, Jr. and daughter Susan (Darryl) Johnson-Miller; grandchildren Deby Johnson, Chris (Michelle) Johnson, Brad (Paola) Johnson, and Annie (Luke) Iverson; great grandchildren Alex, Kyah, Jarett, Bradley, Kaitlin, J.P., Noah, and Willow.
A private family crypt side service will be held at the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery in Nashville with her great-nephew, the Rev. B. J. Brack (Calvary United Methodist Church), and Pastor Jack Galloway (First Church of the Nazarene) officiating. A public memorial service honoring her life will be held at a later date.
