I worked with Darlene for many years. She imparted lots of wisdom during that time.
I remember we decided we were going to carpool. Around the first or second time we were preparing to leave it was the day the tornado hit Nashville (the courthouse and CJC). We rushed to the car and tried to get out of the city. We get to about Trinity lane and it was flooded so bad we couldn't see. I decided we should go back and seek shelter and she wanted to keep going. So we look like a couple of idiots bickering in the middle of the tornado stuck in the car. In the end she made me drop her off at the closest gas station and called her family. I went back to the CJC and waited it out. We had a good laugh about it later.
She always told me enjoy being young because one day you will miss it. You never realize the wisdom of people until they are gone.
God bless your family. Condolences on your loss.
