Mr. David Coleman Goolsby's Obituary
David Coleman Goolsby, age 74, of Columbia, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 peacefully at home. David was born on October 6, 1944 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late J.B. Goolsby and Mary Coleman Harris.
Mr. Goolsby spent many years farming in Middle Tennessee, and many more years involved in agribusiness ventures – as well as missionary and humanitarian projects (in association with Healing Hands International and other organizations) – all over the world. He was a long-time member of Smith Springs Church of Christ (Nashville), and, more recently, Highland Church of Christ (Columbia).
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Janice Gotto Goolsby; children, Abraham (Shannon) Goolsby, Beth (Douglas) Anacreonte, Ella (Jonathan) Pettit, Jared (DeShaunta) Goolsby and Jacob (Lindsay) Goolsby; sisters Carole (Ronald) Pettus and Dianne (Lynn) Griffith; grandchildren Ashton, Sophie, Sydney, Avery, Aidan, Atticus, Levi, Cherith, Chloe, Phoebe, Shiloh, Mila, Mars and Jude.
Visitation will be held Sunday, December 2, 2018, from 4 PM to 8 PM at Smith Springs Church of Christ 2783 Smith Springs Rd, Nashville, TN 37217. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 3, at 11 AM at Smith Springs Church of Christ. Pallbearers will be Abraham Goolsby, Ashton Goolsby, Avery Goolsby, Douglas Anacreonte, Jonathan Pettit, Levi Pettit, Jared Goolsby and Jacob Goolsby. There will be a private family burial at a later date.
