David Lee Jones' Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Lee Jones, 65, of Lexington, Tennessee, who departed this world on July 3, 2024, at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro. Born in Nashville, Tennessee, on January 13, 1959, to Dibrell Lee Jones and Mary Elizabeth Field, David lived a life filled with love, kindness, and dedication to his family and friends.
David's father, Dibrell Lee Jones, and his grandparents, Mike and Louise Harris, Elbert and Molly Jones, preceded him in death, welcoming him into eternal rest.
David leaves behind his beloved mother, Mary Elizabeth Field; sister, Danielle Johnston; brother, Michael Jones; niece, Natasha Solis; son, Joshua Jones; stepdaughter, Lisa Dale; girlfriend/finance Janette Thompson; and his cousins, Christopher Jones and Amy Boner, and many other extended families of nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
David will be fondly remembered as a man of immense generosity and unwavering kindness. He was always the first to offer help, never hesitating to lend a hand or give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. His warmth and friendliness were unmatched, and he never met a stranger—everyone he encountered quickly became a friend.
An avid hunter, David found peace and joy in the great outdoors. His love for nature and the thrill of the hunt were passions he pursued whenever he had the chance. These moments in the wilderness brought him great happiness and serenity.
David's life was a testament to the power of kindness and the importance of community. He was a pillar of support for those around him, and his legacy of generosity and compassion will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and everyone whose lives he touched.
A burial of David's ashes will be held at Spring Hill Cemetery, located at 5110 Gallatin Pike S, Nashville, TN 37216, on July 26, 2024 at 2:45pm. A celebration of David's life will be held on July 27, 2024, at 1pm at Rocksprings Baptist Church, located at 2155 Rock Springs Rd, Greenbrier, TN 37073, where we will gather to honor his memory and share the stories that made him so special to us all.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Tennessee Wildlife Federation, reflecting David's giving spirit and dedication to his love of hunting and nature.
