David Dale King's Obituary
David Dale King, age 72, of Portland, Tennessee, passed away on July 20, 2026, at Sumner Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.
Born on November 13, 1953, David was the son of the late Robert and Ruth King. He was a musician at heart whose passion for music led him to the Nashville area in pursuit of a performing career. Throughout his life, he found great joy sharing his talents and entertaining others through country music. Many cherished memories were made as he performed at live events and small local venues throughout the area, where he found not only an audience but a second home among fellow musicians and friends. Later in life, he developed a special connection with his niece, Abby.
David will be lovingly remembered by his sister, Brenda Jackson; brother, Randall Jarvis; nephew, Kevin Schosker; nieces, Brianna Jarvis and Olivia Jarvis; grandnieces and grandnephews, Abigail, Josie, and Miles; and a multitude of other nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
In addition to his parents, Robert and Ruth King, he was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Jewell; and brothers, Randall Stalnaker, Kenneth Stalnaker, Jerry Wright, and Donald Wright.
David's love for music, his warm spirit, and the memories he created through song will be treasured by all who knew and loved him. He leaves behind a legacy of music, friendship, and family that will not be forgotten.
