"Dee" Larus Von Upton's Obituary
UPTON, "Dee" Larus Von- age 70 of Portland, TN passed away July 13, 2011. She was born in Bemis, TN on November 11, 1940 to Vaughnell "Von" Mooneyhan, who survives the late John Bruce Brasher. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years Bobby Thomas Upton. Dee leaves a strong legacy in her children, Bruce Upton (Britan), Sam Upton, Shelly Dunnagan (Rick), Deena Gourley (Floyd)and Ben Upton (Elizabeth); grandchildren, Chance Eblen, Merritt Leigh Upton, Brasher Eblen, Maryjordan Eblen, Isabella Upton, Amber Pardue, Carson Samuel Upton, Nick and Sandra Spain. Dee was a very loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She retired from Beech High School where she assisted the principal for many years. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church and the Red Hat Society. The funeral ceremony will be on Saturday July 16, 2011 at 11 AM in the chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home with Pastor Jones officiating. Serving as active pallbearers Bob Young, Dewey Burton, Chance Eblen, Brasher Eblen, Floyd Gourley, Rick Dunnagan, Manuel Moreno, and Nick Spain. Serving as an honorable pallbearer will be Gerald Allen. Visitation will be on Thursday 5-7 p.m. and Friday from 2-8 PM. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Franklin, KY.
