Delmar Alton Dorr's Obituary
DORR, Delmar Alton (Del) Age 82 of Nashville, TN. March 11, 2025 Del was born in Lewis-ton, Maine in August of 1942 the oldest child of Henry and Mary Dean Dorr. After high school graduation in 1960 he joined the US Air Force and served for 8 years – some of which in South Korea. After his honorable discharge he served as a minister to congregations in Florida, Nash-ville and Maine. He retired from the Tennessee State Library & Archives where he had worked for over 12 years. Del was a long time dedicated and faithful member of Eastwood Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) where for many years he taught Sunday School, was heavily in-volved in VBS, coordinated the Room in the Inn program, served as a deacon and later as an El-der. He enjoyed volunteering at Fifty Forward in Madison for many years. Thanks to the staff of AVIVA Maybelle Carter Senior Living, Skyline Hospital and Alive Hospice for the fine care they recently provided. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, April 3rd with visitation beginning at 5:30pm and the service at 6:30pm at Eastwood Christian Church (1601 Eastland Ave, 37206). Rev. K.J. Kim officiating. Memorials gifts may be made to Eastwood Christian Church.
