Mr. Delmar James Watson's Obituary
Delmar James Watson, age 89, passed away on Thursday March 31, 2016.
Mr. Watson was born to Charlie Monroe Watson and Elizabeth (Johnson) Watson on July 14, 1926 in Rochelle, Georgia.
Delmar was married to Gloria DuBose Watson for 61 years until her passing in December of 2015.
Mr. Watson was the last surviving sibling from 5 sisters, 1 brother, and 3 sets of twins which passed away at birth.
Delmar is survived by his three daughters, Jan Watson, Joy Watson, and Liz Watson. In addition, he is survived by his granddaughter Megan Watson along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Delmar was a world traveler visiting places such Honduras, Europe, Alaska, Quebec Canada to name a few.
After moving to Nashville in 1967, Delmar began working for Cliff’s Cabinet Shop until his retirement in 1991, yet he continued to work part time for several more years. Delmar loved to garden, camp, and go to yard sales.
Delmar loved people and never met a stranger.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 from 9-10 AM at Spring Hill Funeral Home, services will be conducted at 10 AM at Spring Hill Funeral Home Chapel. Burial with military honors will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.
