Mr. Dennis Jerome 'Denny' McBride IV's Obituary
Dennis Jerome “Denny” McBride IV, age 49, of Old Hickory, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2020. Born December 29, 1970 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, he was the son of Dennis Jerome McBride III and Laura Jones McBride.
Denny was a loving husband, father, son, brother, nephew, cousin, uncle, neighbor, coworker and friend to many. Denny served the State of Tennessee and Cheatham County for most of his work career as a probation officer. He had a beautiful mind and was highly intelligent. A writer, lover of all things outdoors, a thinker, a doer, one who always left his piece of the world better than he found it every day. Denny was devoted to his family, leader of his brothers and sister and loved passionately his two children Kat and Romey, no sacrifice was too great for them. Devoted to his beloved spouse, Kay and parents Laura and Dennis. Many knew Denny through his Father Ryan HS drama club pursuits and his passion for the written and spoken word. Some knew him as an adjunct English Professor, published author, prolific reader, always ready with a review on Good Reads, or a passionate hiker and Tennessee Titans fan. All remember him as a good and loving friend.
As his uncle said “Denny, yours was a life well lived.” And as they say in the infantry, “Hold the High Ground until we meet again.”
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Katherine “Kay” McBride; children Kathleen “Kat” Anna Dacey McBride and Dennis “Romey” Jerome McBride V; parents Dennis Jerome McBride III and Laura Jones McBride; siblings Jennifer Marie (Bryan) Sullivan, Col Michael Ryan (Kowanda) McBride, and Julian Scott (Katherine “K.C” Perkins) McBride; aunts Jacque McBride, Alma (Bruce) Anderson, and Karen Faulkner Jones; uncles Michael (Carolyn) Jones, Tommy (Patricia) McBride, and Bruno Jones; nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
