Mr. Don Edward Childress' Obituary
Mr. Don Edward Childress, 76, formerly of Columbia and a resident of Mt. Juliet, died Monday, October 20, 2014 at Summit Medical Center.
The Maury County, Tennessee native was the son of the late Silas Edward and Jenny Lee Ring Childress. He was a dedicated member of Local Union 86 for over 50 years and as of the Baptist Faith. He was a football fan having followed Peyton Manning throughout his entire career. In Don’s spare time he enjoyed carpentry of all types and loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Marion Price Childress; a daughter, Lisa Woodruff; a son, Eddie Childress; a brother, Mike (Donna) Childress; 2 grandchildren, Lauren (Kirk) Harris and Jessica Woodruff; a great grandchild, Easton Harris; other beloved extended family members. He was preceded in death by a son, John Childress.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Ceremony will be conducted Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at 1:00PM at Spring Hill Funeral Home with Pastor Corely officiating. The family will visit with friends Wednesday, October 22, 2014 from 11:00AM until service time. Burial will be in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Anthony Nicholson, Shane Hammock, Tony Hicks, Frank Bradford, Sidney Richardson, John Dale Cantrell, Bill Blalock and Frank Middleton. Honorary Pallbearers will be John Price and Fermo Pasquo. Arrangements have been entrusted to Spring Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, Nashville, 615-865-1101.
