Mr. Donald William Pyles' Obituary
Donald William Pyles, 91, passed peacefully from this life on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Wheeling, WV, March 16, 1930, son of William and Virginia (Ryan) Pyles, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his brother, Archie Pyles.
Donald proudly served his country in the US Air Force as a military police officer. Afterward he graduated from Trevecca Nazarene University with a Bachelor’s degree and Stetson University with a Master’s Degree. He was a believer in the Holy Bible and was interested in Eastern philosophy, a deep thinker who enjoyed educating others. He loved music and was well versed in many different instruments, including the guitar, banjo, mandolin, and piano. Donald also loved motorcycles, which came from his time in the MP detail in the Air Force. He also remained fit and ran many marathons over the years, which showed what a fighting spirit he had. Donald had many accomplishments throughout his life but felt his greatest accomplishment was his son, Mark. Donald will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Donald is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Joyce (Lewis) Pyles, son Mark (Sharlyne Soriano) Pyles, and grandsons Ryan Pyles and Justin Pyles. To honor his wishes, his remains will be cremated and no services planned.
Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery is in charge of arrangements.
