Doris Bueno Ramos' Obituary
Celebrating the Life of Doris Ester Bueno Ramos May 11th, 1937 – May 7th, 2026
“Que trabajen” Doris Ester Bueno Ramos, known simply as Doris, filled 88 years with resolve, color, and care. Born in Santiago de Cuba, she completed her remarkable journey at Vanderbilt Hospital after a long fight with urinary infections.
Determined, confident, creative, hardworking, and curious, Doris turned everyday moments into joyful memories. She loved arts and crafts, reading everything from daily news to the Bible, and cooking meals that brought relatives and friends together.
Family parties were never complete without her signature congrí. She could sit for hours knitting bright purses and happily gave them to children, a simple act that showed her generous spirit. Her Catholic faith guided her choices, and her lifelong service as an anti-communist voice in Cuba reflected her steady convictions.
“Que trabajen” was more than a motto; it was her call to action for everyone around her. Doris leaves treasured memories with her sons Joseberto and Fernando, her long-time friend Emelina, and her god-daughter Idania. Each carries forward her charisma and kindness in their own lives. Today we celebrate the beautiful life of Doris, thankful for the warmth she shared and the example she set. May her creative energy and fearless spirit continue to inspire all who knew her.
