Ms. Doris P Miller's Obituary
Doris Patricia Miller died Christmas night 2018 at the age of 91. She was born in Olney IL. Her father, Frank Miller, employed by Shell Oil Company, was transferred to New York a few years later. Her mother, Sarah Ramsey of Gallatin TN, was a gardener and homemaker. Doris attended school at Sewawanica High School. At Barnard College, she was active in dance and geology field trips in her major area of study.
After graduation, she was employed by Texaco, enjoying a life-long career. She returned to college while working to ear an M.A. in Libary Science and was head of the Texaco Library. Doris was an avid photographer. She traveled to Europe many times, Mexico, and New England. Doris spent many investigative hours at libraries and courhouses tracing and documenting proof of ancestry.
In 2000 she moved to Nashville TN to Belmont Village to be near her cousins, John Authur Ramsey Jr. of Nashville TN, Sandra Ramsey Chapman Auburn, AL, and Nancy Ramsey Fandrich of Murray KY; Gayle Jennings Douglas of Nashville TN and Mary Milton Jennings Platt of Columbia MO; Jack Burton (deceased), Ramsey Burton (deceased), and Lucy Burton Anderson of Gallatin, TN; Mary Cornelia Ramsey (deceased).
A Graveside service will be held in the Spring of 2019 at Spring Hill Cemetery, Nashville, TN.
