Dorothy "Dotty" Berger's Obituary
Dorothy (Dottie) Loretta Berger (nee Schweibinz), beloved mother, Nana, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully at home on October 19th after a valiant two and a half year battle with cancer. Born and raised in Jim Thorpe, PA, she met and married her sweetheart Dick Berger. While she worked for many years, including for Hayden Stone in the World Trade Center in New York, and as a manager for McDonald's in Tennessee, her greatest accomplishment was her family. Dottie could always be found caring for and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a devout Catholic and parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake church. Dottie was always active and ready for adventure, whether it be a zumba class with her friends, a Caribbean cruise with her family, or her regular visits to both the Jersey shore and her hometown of Jim Thorpe, PA. She could be found front and center on the dance floor at every family wedding, but she was equally at home playing cards or dominos around the family table. Dottie was kind, thoughtful, spirited, funny and a blessing to all who knew her, and she will be terribly missed.
Dottie was predeceased by her loving husband, Dick Berger, her beloved daughter, Renee Borowski, her son-in-law Jerry Seybert, her sister Joan Strohl (and brother-in-law Chip), her brothers Paul (and sister-in-law Patsy), and James Schweibinz, her brother-in-law Ed Michaud, and her parents, Anna and Aloysius Schweibinz.
Dottie is survived by many beloved family and friends, including: her daughter, Annie Seybert; her son, Richie Berger, her grandsons Joshua Hudgins and Cory McCreary, her great-grandchildren, her siblings Robert and Cathy Schweibinz, Anna and Ray Hughes, William and Annette Schweibinz, Betty Michaud, and Jane Schweibinz, and her special chosen daughter Marie Stringfellow and her husband Philip. Dottie is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.
