Mrs. Dorothy Louise Leftwich's Obituary
Dorothy Louise Garrett Leftwich, 85, born June 23, 1929 passed away February 2, 2015.
Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Emma Garrett; daughter-in-law, Kim Leftwich.
Survived by her husband, Sam Leftwich; sister, Evelyn Baskette; daughter Nancy (Dean) Cooley; son, Steve (Denise) Leftwich; grandchildren, Matt (Andi), Mark (Amber), Mitch, Rachel (Richard), Keith, and Alex; great-grandchildren, Aidan, Abel, Oliver, Remie, Willem, Mara, and Eleanor.
Dot was a member of Tulip Street Methodist Church in her youth and a member of Madison Christian Church during her sixty-five years of marriage to Sam. She enjoyed helping in the nursery and on the production of the bulletin. She especially enjoyed participating in the Christian Women’s Fellowship.
During her years at East High School Dot lettered in basketball. She always enjoyed all sports and enjoyed being outdoors. Following graduation, Dot worked for the Washington Manufacturing Company. After starting her family she devoted her life to her family and church. She was a shining example of Titus 2:3-5.

Her Children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.”
Her celebration of life services will be held at Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at Spring Hill Funeral Home. The funeral services will be on Friday, February 6, 2015 at 12:00 pm in the chapel of Spring Hill. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.
