Mrs. Dorothy "Sue" Morris' Obituary
Dorothy “Sue” Hoffman Morris of Madison, TN passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2022 due to natural causes. She was born on July 21, 1933 in Nashville, TN to the late Howard and Dorothy Hoffman. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Hulon Morris Sr and brothers: George “Doogie” Briggs and Richard “Buddy” Alan Hoffman.
She is survived by her sister Harriet Hoffman Lovell, her children: Stanley (Diane) Hulon Morris, Jr, Demetria Sue (Gene) Kulas, Mark Douglas (Kelley) Morris, Ann Shannon (Kevin) Neville, and grandchildren Caleb (Gabbi) Morris, Briana (Alan) Olson, Kyle (Hailey) Morris, Katie (Michael) Foster, Demi (Christopher) Lowe, Collin Neville, Caden Neville, Callie Neville, Jake Morris; and great-grandchildren Sophie, Ryder, and Mila Morris; Sydney and Lily Olson; Harper, Briggs and Gentry Morris; Tate, Denton and Graylin Foster; and Logan and Adelyn Lowe.
Sue graduated from Hume Fogg High School in 1951. She and Hulon were raised across the street from each other in East Nashville and were married for 65 years. They raised their children in Madison, TN and were lifelong members of Dickerson Road Baptist Church. Sue was a faithful wife and loving mother, sister, neighbor and friend. She loved her nieces and nephews as her own. She had a servant's heart and was always busy helping everyone. Her greatest joy in life came from her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 12pm with Brother Mark Lemay officiating. The family will receive visitors from 10am until the time of the service. No Committal Service will be held, as burial will be private. All in attendance of the service are invited to join the family afterward for food and fellowship at Mark and Kelley’s House (6509 Lickton Pike Goodlettsville TN 37072)
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Sue’s memory be made to St Jude’s Children's Hospital, Gideon Bibles or the charitable organization of your choice.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Caleb Morris, Kyle Morris, Collin Neville, Caden Neville, Jake Morris, Donnie Reasonover, Ron Hood. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Lucy Reasonover, Sue Dunnebacke, Lorreta Morris, Lois Sharp, Ann Hoffman.
